Chris MacDonald (Chico Mac) is a multifaceted artist whose primary form of expression is painting. Born and raised in Los Angeles to artistic parents, he was encouraged from an early age to explore his creativity. From 1993 to 1998, he lived in Guadalajara, México, an experience that shaped his love for culture, language, and diversity—elements that strongly influence his work.

Chris has lived and worked in NYC, LA, and CDMX. Although he holds a Masters of Arts Degree, he is largely self-taught, and he credits his father’s artistic spirit as a major influence.

Guided by his personal motto, “still learning,” Chris embraces growth and experimentation, often building texture and depth on canvas with magazine clippings, newspaper, and layered materials before painting. He currently lives and works in Mexico City.
